On behalf of the Old Collegians, I wish to extend deepest sympathies to the DiMarzio family for the sudden passing of Mario Di Marzio. (OC1981). Mario is survived by his wife Larra and his two children Lia and Andrew.
Thank you to John Carberry who got in touch to share this news. We received this tribute for Kim DiMarzio this morning.
Mario passed away unexpectedly on November 6, 2013. He was 49 years old and leaves wife Larra and two children in Lia and Andrew aged 7 and 6 respectively.
Mario was a devoted family man and highly regarded by friends, at work and in other forums. He was a real giver helping people with disabilities, a Joey Scouts leader and Auskick coach. He worked in Child Protection for the Department of Human Services as a trainer, supervisor, project worker and front line worker with high risk, abused and traumatised infant, children and young people along with their families. A couple of quotes heard at his funeral sum him up well:
“Mario never judged anybody by where they lived, how they dressed or what car they drove. he judged people on how they treated him, those close to him and others”.
“Mario worked hard to bring smiles and happiness to others like nobody else I have ever known.”
